AISI 420-B /420-C (MARTENSITIC)It is an appropriate stainless steel for applications in contact with water, steam and gasoline. Due to their chemical composition, the balls are able to be hardened, obtaining a lightly lower hardness to the chrome steel AISI 52100. They are very used in applications like valve, stainless bearings, polishing machinery (as mill element)
The stainless steel balls. 440-C have high hardness and high resistance to wear. They can be manufactured to very tight dimensional tolerances, making them well suited for precision applications. It has a corrosion resistance similar to that of AISI 420-C. They are supplied with passivation treatment.
Main applications: Valves for oil applications, stainless bearings, ball screws, ballpoint pen tips.
The balls manufactured in this steel type present an excellent resistance to the corrosion in contact with organic chemical substances and oxidising solutions. Due to their chemical composition this material doesn't admit to be hardened and it presents a low magnetism. Used mainly in micro-valves for atomizers, agricultural pumps, etc.
Similar to AISI 304, this material presents a bigger resistance to the corrosion, being at the same time more antimagnetic. It is used mainly in alimentary industry and chemistry.
