Precision balls

Glass balls

Glass balls for industrial uses of medium or high precision, presenting excellent resistance to corrosion.
Glass balls

SODA LIME GLASS BALLS

Light weight glass balls. They have good corrosion resistance and they are electric insulators. They are also chemically inert. As high precision balls they are used for bearings,  valves,  metering pumps, ink cartridges.

  • Range from 1 a 50 mm

Can be supplied in medium precision for applications as:  grinding pigments, optical industry, agitators, etc  Subject to minimum order.

  • Range from 1,5 a 16 mm

BOROSILICATE GLASS BALLS

With similar mechanical properties to soda lime glass, they present  better corrosion resistance, specially to most  acids compounds and salt solutions. They resist pressure variations Only supplied in high precision for applications as bearing, valves, metering pumps and pharmaceutical industry.

  • Range from 2 a 40 mm

Frequently asked questions

What types of glass balls can LUIS APARICIO, S.L. supply?

We mainly offer high-precision glass balls made of soda-lime glass and borosilicate glass. They are sold by units for industrial applications. It is also possible to supply, upon request, low-precision glass balls sold by the kilogram for shot blasting of parts and grinding of pigments and paints.

What are the main applications of glass balls?

They are used in special valves, plastic bearings, agricultural pumps, micro-spray pumps for perfumes, liquid and emulsion agitators, as well as for shot blasting and grinding.

What are the main characteristics of glass balls?

They are lightweight, non-magnetic, and have good resistance to oxidation. They are usually supplied with a polished surface finish. Soda-lime glass balls are the most economical, while borosilicate glass balls offer greater resistance to temperature and corrosion. If colorless glass is required, borosilicate glass is recommended, since soda-lime glass often shows greenish or bluish hues.

What are the delivery times for glass balls?

If the required items are not available in our warehouse stock, a wide range of sizes can usually be supplied within 1–2 weeks. For new productions, delivery times may vary between 1 and 4 months, depending on the item.
